“We cannot seek achievement for ourselves and forget about progress and prosperity for our community… Our ambitions must be broad enough to include the aspirations and needs of others, for their sakes and for our own.” --Cesar Chavez
"Listening to DEBI book club titles on Audible while racking up the distribution travel miles makes the trip go faster while broadening my perspective. My understanding of and compassion for other lived perspectives has been enriched by listening to the inequities faced merely getting from one place to the next in Driving While Black and the struggles of the Windrush Generation in All the Lonely People. Reading these books has led me to explore and read more about the true history of the Civil Rights Movement, vs. the “Disney Version” many of us were given in school."
