Cherry Blossoms at Portland Waterfront Each spring, Portland and the Willamette Valley come alive in soft shades of pink. Cherry blossoms line the waterfront, vineyard landscapes begin to bloom, and a new wine season quietly arrives.

It’s a fleeting moment, but it's one that feels distinctly Oregon.

Cherry blossom season has long drawn visitors to places like Tokyo and Washington, D.C., but Oregon offers a quieter, more intimate way to experience it. In Portland, cherry blossoms frame the Willamette River and fill the city’s parks with color. Beyond the city, blooms can be found throughout the Willamette Valley, where the vineyard begins to wake up and flowers are in bloom everywhere.

As cherry blossoms reach their peak, another seasonal marker arrives alongside them: Rosé season.

The same sense of renewal seen in the landscape is echoed in the wines being poured throughout the Willamette Valley—rosés that are crisp, expressive, and made to be enjoyed in moments that stretch into the afternoon.

In the Willamette Valley, rosé is most often crafted from Pinot noir and shaped by the region’s cool-climate conditions. The result is a range of styles, from bright and mineral-driven to more textured and layered, each defined by freshness, balance, and a clear sense of place.
