On Sunday, March 8, the energy of Oregon wine country meets the roar of the crowd at the Moda Center as the Willamette Valley Wineries Association partners with the Portland Trail Blazers for a one-of-a-kind evening celebrating Willamette Valley wine — courtside.

Willamette Valley Wine Night brings together basketball fans and wine lovers for a pre-game wine tasting and food reception followed by an exciting matchup as the Trail Blazers take on the Indiana Pacers.

The evening begins with an exclusive pre-game wine and food reception starting at 4:45 PM in the Rose Room at the Moda Center. Guests will enjoy curated tastings from a lineup of 18 Willamette Valley wineries alongside food, conversation, and the buzz of game night before heading to their seats.

The tasting highlights the diversity and quality of wines produced throughout the Willamette Valley, offering an approachable introduction for both longtime wine enthusiasts and those newly discovering Willamette Valley wine.

Participating Wineries — Where Wine Meets the Game

The pre-game reception features a lineup of Willamette Valley wineries representing the depth, creativity, and character of the region. Guests will have the opportunity to taste a range of wines while engaging directly with the people behind them — all in a setting charged with game-day excitement.

Among the participating producers will be Chosen Family Wines and McCollum Heritage 91, two wineries with especially strong ties to the basketball world. Founded by current and former professional basketball players, these wineries reflect the natural crossover between sport, culture, and community making them a fitting highlight of Wine Night with the Trail Blazers.

Following the reception, attendees will head to the arena for a 6:00 PM tip-off, cheering on the Trail Blazers, a perfect close to an evening where wine and basketball share the spotlight.
