Wine Clubs

Go wine tasting just about anywhere in the Willamette Valley and you’re sure to hear someone mention wine clubs. Perhaps you want to taste a wine that is available to club members only, or you’ve heard your friends raving about their new winery membership. So what’s a wine club? Simply a way for wineries to reward their most loyal customers with special wine shipments, deals and events.

Wine club benefits vary from one winery to another. Most involve some form of subscription wine order that gets you a set number of bottles from that winery a few times a year (shipped to you if you live far away, or available for pickup at special “pickup days”) in addition to a discount. Many are customizable to your taste and budget. Wine club memberships may offer you a certain number of complimentary tastings at the winery per year or access to “club members only” events, like winemaker dinners and pickup parties. Often, wineries save experimental, special reserve, and one-off bottlings for their club members.

In a nutshell, wine clubs are the best way to ensure a regular supply of great wine from your favorite winery while enjoying a number of perks in return. They can also be social connectors, offering a chance to meet new friends at club events and pickup days. So if a winery captures your heart during your visit to wine country, consider asking about their wine club. It’s a wonderful way to stay in touch with and support a business you love, and you’ll ensure that your next bottle of Willamette Valley wine is never too far away.
